イスラエル交響楽団音楽監督、2009年にはマンハイム国民劇場音楽監督。2003年から08年までベルリン国立歌劇場カペルマイスター兼音楽監督（ダニエル・バレンボイム）助手。ウィーン国立歌劇場、ロスアンジェルス・オペラ、バイエルン国立歌劇場、ワシントン・ナショナル・オペラなど世界の主要歌劇場に出演。09-10年シーズンにはメトロポリタン歌劇場のオープニングに続き、10年には英国ロイヤル・オペラを指揮、11年には国立パリ・オペラ座を指揮予定。新国立劇場には04年『ファルスタッフ』以来毎シーズン登場し、06年新制作『イドメネオ』をはじめ、『ニーベルングの指環』全曲（09年『ラインの黄金』『ワルキューレ』、10年『ジークフリート』『神々の黄昏』）の指揮で大好評を博した。東京フィルには05年4月定期公演以来毎シーズン登場し、創造性あふれる指揮で大きな反響を呼んでいる。2010年4月より東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団常任指揮者。

Dan Ettinger, Music Director of the Israel Symphony Orchestra and Music Director of National Theater Mannheim. He was Kapellmeister and Assistant to Daniel Barenboim at the Berlin Staatsoper from 2003 to 2008. Mr. Ettinger conducted world's major theaters including the Vienna State Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Munich Bavarian State Opera and the Washington National Opera. Ettinger made a highly successful debut, opening 2009/10 season of the Metropolitan Opera. His other debut performances are scheduled at Covent Garden in 2010 and Opera Bastille Paris in 2011. Since his debut at the New National Theatre Tokyo (NNTT) conducting Falstaff with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) in 2004, he was re-invited every year by NNTT, including a new production of Idomeneo in 2006 and Wagner's Ring Cycle in 2009 and 2010, both with TPO to great acclaim. Ettinger has been invited to the Tokyo Philharmonic's subscription series every season since April 2005, making a strong impression with his creative conducting. He was appointed as TPO's Chief Conductor, starting April 2010.
