1961年大阪生まれ。4歳よりヴァイオリンを始める。筑波大学在学中より徳永二男氏に師事し、ヴァイオリンの研鑽を積む。84年同大学を卒業し、翌年NHK交響楽団に入団。第53回日本音楽コンクール入選。第21回東京国際音楽コンクール弦楽四重奏部門において齋藤秀雄賞受賞。第25回ティボール・ヴァルガ国際ヴァイオリンコンクール最高位入賞。89年アフィニス文化財団の奨学生として、ドイツ・ミュンヘンに留学、エルネ・セベスティアン氏に師事。99年新星日本交響楽団の首席コンサートマスターに就任し、2001年より東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団のコンサートマスターを務める。
これまでに、サンクトペテルブルク・フィルハーモニー室内オーケストラ、札幌交響楽団、東京フィル、名古屋フィル、大阪フィル等、各地のオーケストラと共演しているほか、リサイタル、ボア・ヴェール・トリオ、ヴェーラ弦楽四重奏団等、多彩な演奏活動を展開。国立音楽大学、洗足学園音楽大学等講師。

Born in Osaka in 1961. Akihiro Miura started to take violin lessons at the age of 4. While studying at Tsukuba University, he pursued violin under the guidance of Tsugio Tokunaga. After graduation of the university in 1984, Miura joined the NHK Symphony Orchestra. In the same year he won an award in the violin section of the Music Competition of Japan. Miura also received the Saito Hideo Award in the string quartet section of the Tokyo International Music Competition in 1985 and the top award for Tibor Valga International Violin Competition in 1991. As a recipient of Affinis Art Foundation scholarship, Miura went to Munich, Germany in 1989, to study with Ern? Sebesty?n. In 1999, he joined Shinsei Japan Symphony Orchestra, as a principal concertmaser, and since 2001, he has been a concertmaster of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
Miura has collaborated as a soloist with many orchestras including the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra and Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra in addition to various music activities as a recitalist & a member of Bois Vert Trio and Vela String Quartet. He also teaches at Kunitachi College of Music and Senzoku Gakuen College of Music.
