Kazuo Yamada
Since first taking the podium in 1940, Kazuo Yamada was a leading figure in Japan's music world, noted for his richly textured interpretations and distinctive style of music making. He served for many years in the Japan Shinsei Orchestra (now integrated into the Tokyo Philharmonic) as Artistic Advisor, Honorary Conductor, and since 1991, Permanent Honorary Conductor. He was awarded the 42nd Japan Art Academy Prize in 1986.
