A Korea/Japan Historical First!
The Seoul Philharmonic & Tokyo PhilharmonicCombined Orchestra conducted by Maestro Myung-Whun Chung.
The year 2015 celebrates the 50th anniversary of Korea and Japan’s
diplomatic restoration. With our Honorary Conductor Laureate, Maestro
Myung-Whun Chung, whose great passions have always included nurturing the two
countries' friendship through art, the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra in collaboration with the Seoul Philharmonic, the leading orchestra of
Korea, will present the Korea/Japan Friendship Beethoven 9th Symphony
Festival both in Seoul and Tokyo.
Art can transcend the borders of languages, nations, politics and economy.
A supreme art work such as Beethoven’s 9th symphony, especially with its
message that human beings are all brothers and sisters, will help to inspire actions
for peace in East Asia and around the world.
