The theme of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra's subscription concerts for the 2021 season is “In Search of a New Scene,” wishing, in the midst of the unprecedented corona crisis, that people can bring the arts back into their daily lives through music that gives them dreams and hope.
Of these, "The Firebird," in January and "Resurrection" in February are particularly meaningful. They invoke "elation" that brings joy. At all eight subscription concerts, four magnificent conductors who hold posts in the orchestra provide incomparably uplifting performances of passionate works and rich masterpieces.
We hope you will enjoy throughout the year the program we have put together through unprecedented global events, and experience the joy of new discoveries in live orchestral performance.
