June subscription concerts back on schedule!

***All subscription ticket holders requested to confirm! (details below)***

As the state of emergency for Tokyo has been lifted, TPO will carefully resume subscription concerts in June, applying some precautions as described after the scheduling details below.

We would like to ask for your understanding and cooperation in making these changes and in complying with the items listed here so that things can return to normal as soon as possible. In case the Tokyo Metropolitan government requests suspending social activities, we will announce cancellation on our website.

Changes to the original program:

Our Special Guest Conductor, Mikhail Pletnev, who resides in Russia, will not be able to come to Japan because of the unpredictability of travel restrictions. We will change the conductor and the program as follows:

Conductor

Kazumasa Watanabe

(Resident Conductor of Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra)

Program

Rossini: Overture to The Barber of Seville (about 8 minutes)

Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" (about 45 minutes)

Changes to attendance arrangements:

The performance will last approximately one hour with no intermission.

You may enter and exit the venue during the performance.

Assigned seats will be reallocated to all attendees.

In order to maintain social distance, new seats will be allocated with empty seats in between, but keeping within the same category as you purchased, such as SS, S, A, B, and C.

Seats must be confirmed. Please send us your ticket(s) and the enclosed form in the enclosed envelope sent to you by the Tokyo Phil, postmarked by June 12, Friday.

We will reassign the seats and send you a postcard with the new seat number around June 17, Wednesday. Please bring the postcard to the concert, as it will be used as the admission ticket on the day of the performance.

Refunds:

If you would like to cancel, the ticket price will be refunded to you.
Please send us your ticket(s) with the form in the enclosed envelope we mailed to you, postmarked by July 31, Friday.
For more information, please see the information enclosed in the envelope.

Support the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra by not requesting a refund:

We have provided in the form your option to consider unspent tickets a donation toward TPOs ability to share your love for classical music.
Since late February, all our concerts have been either cancelled or postponed. As performance fees are almost all the source of our revenue, we are facing a survival crisis.
Your passion for helping the TPO and our dedicated musicians will make a huge difference.
