Announcement of soloist change for performance of Verdi's Macbeth

We respectfully inform our audience:
The originally scheduled bass singer, Mr. Alex Esposito, has become unavailable to sing the role of Banquo in Verdi's Macbeth at September Subscription Concerts due to his personal circumstances.
In his stead, Mr. Albert Pesendorfer will appear as Banquo.
We would appreciate your understanding as refunds will not be available.

Austrian bass Albert Pesendorfer is one of the most sought-after singers of German repertoire, which he has performed at major theaters and festivals all over the world. His stylistic versatility also leads to much acclaim in Italian and Slavic roles. Highlights of his 2024 / 2025 season include Verdi’s Macbeth (Banco) with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Hunding (Die Walküre) at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, Baron Ochs (Der Rosenkavalier) with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra as well as Graf Waldner (Arabella) and Veit Pogner (Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
Albert Pesendorfer‘s operatic repertoire includes over 70 roles, predominantly those of the German Wagnerian repertoire such as Hans Sachs, Veit Pogner, Landgraf Hermann, Gurnemanz, König Heinrich, König Marke, Fasolt, Hunding and Hagen or those of the Italian repertoire such as Filippo II, Zaccaria, Sparafucile and Banco.
On the concert stage the singer has appeared at the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Barbican Hall in London, as well as in Japan and the USA.
Albert Pesendorfer is also a professor of voice at the Berlin University of the Arts.
