Announcement of Conductor for the 22nd Weekday Afternoon Concert on on Tuesday, July 27

Maestro Tadaaki Otaka, Conductor Laureate of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, who was scheduled to perform at the 22nd Weekday Afternoon Concert on July 27, has been instructed by his doctor that he will need to rest and recuperate for about one month for health reasons. Maestro Kosuke Tsunoda will perform in his place.
There will be no change in the program due to this change.

This event will be held in accordance with the restrictions on events set by the national government and the Tokyo metropolitan government (Emergency measures in Tokyo for novel coronavirus infection expansion prevention, from July 12 to August 22).

We would like to ask you to read “Preventive measures against COVID19 infection implemented by Tokyo Phil” and take all necessary precautions to prevent infection by the COVID19 before coming to the event. In particular, we ask for your cooperation in wearing masks, including during the performance, and in refraining from talking in the audience seats and lobby.

The performance will last approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes, including a 15-minute intermission.

Please call Tokyo Philharmonic Ticket Service (03-5353-9522) for a refund of the ticket price due to the COVID19 infection prevention measures, at least two hours prior to the start of the performance. If there are any changes, we will announce them on this website.
